| The Wonderful World of Pylons | |

Aren't pylons fun !And I don't just mean pylons; there are telegraph poles ( both for carrying telephone cables and for distributing electricity ) and even street lights. You've probably never had any interest in any of these before but, let me tell you, it's a fascinating subject. You probably think that all pylons are the same. All telegraph poles are the same. All street lights are the same. But you are, oh so, so, wrong. To prove this ... Next time you're out walking or driving along ( unless you happen to be the driver ! ); just spend a few seconds looking at the various pylons and telegraph poles in different areas and see how dissimilar they are. If you look closely you will also find that almost every pylon, telegraph pole, street light and even road sign has a distinctive label on it to identify it to the utility company or the local authority. So, instead of writing down aeroplane or train wagon numbers you can make a list of all the pylons, telegraph poles, street lights and road signs you have encountered. There; now you have a hobby. | ||||||||||||||||

| Confucius says, "In days of old, when Knights were bold, and women weren't invented; the men drilled holes, in telegraph poles, and had to be contented" |
