Brazil
Fantasy and surrealism meet Orwellian 1984. It is probably enough to say that this is a Terry Gilliam film. More correctly though, it is the Terry Gilliam film. From a small clerical error involving a Mr Tuttle and Mr Buttle, we follow our hero as the consequential events unfold, as he passes through life in this strange Orwellian landscape and as he pursues the girl of his dreams.
Salome's Last Dance
Russell watches Oscar Wilde watching Salome Wow ! Just what you'd expect from Ken Russell. Mere words cannot explain Russell's art of translating his visions to the silver screen. Not, I fear, to everyone's taste. You'll either love or loathe it.
A Zed and Two Noughts
A study of loss, decay and of wholeness. A visual narrative following two brothers whose wives were killed in a car crash with a swan. An amazing collage of documentary and dramatic footage forcefully driven along by music from Micheal Nyman. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
