Due to recent abuse, the Guestbook has been removed, and is not presently
available.
It is with great regret that I have had to remove the Guestbook. This action was
taken because a recent posting was not only offensive, but placed the site in
a difficult legal position.I am against censorship of free speech, and have quite happily let messages
along the lines of, "This sight sux s--t", remain, as I have no problem with
that. If people want to criticise this site, they are free to do so. I believe
that the balance of those praising and criticising the content represents the
genuine views of those who visit. I never set out to try and please everyone,
and criticism is to be expected. The posting which has caused the Guestbook to be removed was not however a
critcism of the site, but a personal attack on an individual who I do not even
know. The posting was alleged to have been written by the individual in
question, was deeply offensive to that person, and they, quite reasonably,
asked that I remove the posting. I have absolutely no objection in removing postings in such circumstances, but
technical problems have meant that it has not been possible to remove the entry
which is causing problems while leaving the rest of the Guestbook as it was.
The only option has been to remove the Guestbook in its entirety.
I have archived the Guestbook contents and hope to be able to show all the
other messages, good and bad, as soon as possible. I shall also be resuming a
Guestbook as soon as I can. In the meantime, I can only apologise that there is no Guestbook.
