BladeFirst Blood
John Rambo, Vietnam vet, fights it out with the law in small town California. The film that started the Rambo series and certainly the best by far. A simple story of Vietnam vet comes home, falls out with local sheriff and starts a small scale war. Although the traditional Rambo, decked out with military hardware, is the obvious cue for the rest of the series of films, Rambo is stripped to the raw here, living on his own wits. For anyone who has thought, "Right, I'll have you for that", this is the film to watch. Lock, Stock &Two Smoking BarrelsSnake EyesNatural Born Killers
Two mass murdering teenagers become captured in the media's limelight. Originally scripted by Quentin Tarrantino it was rewritten by Oliver Stone who also directed the film. Stone's interpretation drew strong criticism from Tarrantino but still stands in its own right. The film has two distinct halves; the murderous acts leading up to their imprisonment and their subsequent attention under the media spotlight. Whilst the latter half of this film is more traditional in its directorial form there is no less violence than the first. The first half is a serious assault on one's senses and employs almost every visual trick in the book. As Stone put it, "It's like watching two weeks of television in two hours". It is. Sit back and have your senses assaulted. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
